Before and after surgery, many of them are cared for by professionals in their own country: psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, family doctors, surgeons, nurses, social workers and patient assistants we work with closely. Many also come to us through an association. We would love you to be part of that network too.

What being part of it means
Patients in both directions
We operate on patients from every country. When someone in your area needs assessment, support or follow-up close to home, we think of you.
Your work, recognised
When you take part in the assessment or follow-up of a patient we operate on, we cover your professional fees. We explain the terms to you personally.
Scientific collaboration
We publish with professionals from other centres. You can join studies, case series and papers with our team.
Surgeons who complement each other
If you perform part of the pathway, for example chest surgery but not phalloplasty or colovaginoplasty, we work together so your patient receives complete care.
A team on the other side
You speak directly with the surgical team, receive the operative and discharge reports with the patient's consent, and we agree the follow-up together.
Come and see us at work
We invite you to spend a few days with us in Barcelona and meet the team in theatre, in clinic and on the ward. If you are also looking for structured training, there is the observership and the live surgery course.

Very often, the first place a trans or non-binary person turns to is an association. If you belong to one, we would like to meet you and work together.
